tpr drain line in Charleston home

All water heaters are required to have a temperature pressure relief valve which this one does have.  The problem on this water heater is that the drain line should be installed as to flow by gravity.... this one goes up vertically for about a foot before it takes a turn. Water heater safety is very important because if the safety mechanisms fail then the water heater could explode.  I found this doing a home inspection in Charleston.
